How to Make Your First Sale

Back to Resources

Getting your first sale can, and will most likely, be your toughest sale to get. Trust us, we know.

But here’s some tips on how to speed up the process and increase your chances of getting that elusive first sale.

Share Your Link

It’s obvious, but, if people don’t know about the brand then they’ll never become customers. So share your unique affiliate link (found in your ‘Affiliate Dashboard’) everywhere you’re active (i.e. blog, Instagram, Reddit, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)

A link in your bio is a good place to start, then direct your followers to the link. The more traffic your link generates, the more chances they’ll buy.

Share Your Coupon Code

Everybody loves a discount! And nothing drives sales more than offering one to a potential customer.

So share your coupon codes everywhere you’re active and be sure to mention the 20% off discount they’ll receive for using it.

Social media is pretty much everything these days, and that applies to apparel sales. You’ve already built up a following that trusts you on those platforms, so they’re a perfect place to share your links and codes.

Whether you’re sharing the creatives we make available to you or creating your own posts, videos, and stories, social media has huge potential for sales.

Use Your Email List

Emails might feel a little old fashioned, but they’re still highly effective. Especially for bloggers, if you’ve built up an email list then there’s no easier place to convert a sale.

They already trust your opinion, so leverage that. You don’t need to be spammy or inauthentic, just incorporate your links and coupon codes in a manner that’s already true to you and your brand.

Promote On Your Website

A lot of you may have your own blogs, and they’re a great place to convert your traffic into potential sales.

Share your links in posts and use the creatives provided to you as banners, inserts, and sidebar graphics.

Understand Our Audience

Ultimately, making sales comes down to understanding the audience you’re selling to and the audience most likely to buy.

While our audience of customers is fairly diverse, there are some characteristics that are commonly shared among them:

  • 18-45
  • Male
  • Interests in streetwear, music, art, sports – especially skateboarding, BMX, snowboarding, etc.

These aren’t every customer but they are a good starting point on the best type of audiences to promote to. We’ll constantly update these insights and share them with our affiliates.

Family & Friends

Nobody knows you better than the people around you, and most people’s first sales come their family and friends. Don’t be afraid to ask them to support!

Making sales can be difficult, especially at the beginning. But, if you follow these basic guidelines and tips, you’ll be headed in the right direction. Be creative and be your authentic self, it’s already attracted a following, so don’t try to change things up too much.
